Privacy Policy
Revision Date: May, 2010Your privacy is very important to us. We have prepared this Privacy Policy to explain how we collect, use protect, and share information when you are served an advertisement from or use the Adconion network advertising technologies and services ("Ad Network") and when you use the Adconion Web site ("Site"). This Privacy Policy also explains your choices for managing your information preferences.
This Privacy Policy applies to all:
We have organized this Privacy Policy into two sections. The first section addresses information privacy specific to our Ad Network. The second section addresses information privacy in connection with our Site and our general information privacy practices.
By using the Ad Network or the Site, you consent to this Privacy Policy.
Some information is collected through "Cookies" as described below.
AD NETWORK
We are committed to following the National Advertising Initiative's (NAI) privacy principles.
Information We Collect Specifically Through Our Ad Network
We may collect anonymous usage data that does not identify, contact, or precisely locate an End User ("Non-Personally Identifiable Information") when Publishers and Advertisers use our Ad Network to deliver advertisements to End Users. For example, we may collect Web sites visited, content viewed, ad interaction, interaction with Advertiser Web sites, search terms used, and other click and browsing behavior. We may also collect Non-Personally Identifiable Information from other sources, such as online data exchanges.
How We Track User Behavior
When End Users visit a Publisher's Web site, they may be identified through an anonymous data collection and targeting cookie ("Adconion Cookie”). The Adconion Cookie allows our Ad Network to serve advertisements to End Users and to better target and analyze consumer behavior with the goal of providing better and more relevant advertising. You are always free to decline cookies, but by doing so you may not be able to use certain features on the Web sites or take full advantage of all the Web site offerings and targeted advertising. You can configure your Web browser to accept all cookies, reject all cookies, erase cookies, or notify you when a cookie is set. Alternatively, you are always free to opt out of the Adconion Cookie.
Cookie Opt-Out Procedure
IF YOU ARE AN END USER AND DO NOT WANT THE ADVERTISING SERVED TO YOU TO USE THE ADCONION COOKIE, CLICK HERE TO DISABLE YOUR ADCONION COOKIE.
If you decide to opt-out, advertisements may still be delivered to your Web browser on behalf of Publishers using our Ad Network but those advertisements may not be as relevant to you because the advertisement request will only use information that is automatically transmitted through an Internet communication and not information collected using an Adconion Cookie.
The Adconion opt-out functionality is cookie-based. In order for the opt-out to work on your computer, your Web browser must be set to accept third-party cookies. If you buy a new computer, change Web browsers, or delete this cookie, you will need to perform the opt-out task again.
Advertisers and third-party ad networks may also participate in our Ad Network and may also utilize cookies to deliver advertisements and monitor the performance of such advertisements. Many third-party ad networks have agreed to provide an "opt out" mechanism for their ad cookies. The collection of information through cookies by such third parties will be governed by their own privacy policies and practices, over which Adconion has no control. For more information, please click here.
How We Use And When We Share Information We Collect Specifically Through Our Ad Network
With respect to data collected via our Ad Network, including user behavior data, we may combine certain Non-Personally Identifiable Information with data collected from other sources and disclose the Non-Personally Identifiable Information and combined information to participating Advertisers and Publishers to improve the relevance and effectiveness of the advertising presented to End Users. For example, we use data collected via our Ad Network to create anonymous consumer segments. These segments will be used to target and optimize Advertiser campaigns. We do not share Personally Identifiable Information with third parties without your permission, except as expressly disclosed in this Privacy Policy.
Data Retention
Adconion does not keep data on its own servers, instead the data is kept on the End User's computer in the Adconion Cookie. The data is stored in the Adconion Cookie until the Adconion Cookie is deleted by the End User. End Users can delete the Adconion Cookie at any time, as explained in this Privacy Policy. We keep data collected via our Ad Network, including user behavior data, that we control for no longer than two years.
Publisher's Privacy Policy Applies To End Users
End Users should read each Publisher's privacy policy to learn how the Publisher collects, uses, and protects information that they may collect or that may be collected in connection with the Publisher's Web site. While we encourage Publishers to adopt information privacy practices consistent with ours, we are not responsible or liable for any Publisher's information privacy practices.
Advertisers
VAdvertisers that participate in our Ad Network pay Adconion to display advertisements on participating Publisher Web sites. As discussed above, these companies use their own ad serving technologies to display and track their advertisements. Be aware that some Advertisers might use information received from us for their own behavioral advertising. We are not responsible or liable for such Advertisers' information privacy practices. We encourage you to read Advertisers' privacy policies and contact them directly if you have questions about their information privacy practices.

However, certain features of the Site may not work if you delete or disable cookies. Some of our Service Providers (defined below) may use their own cookies and Web beacons in connection with the services they perform on our behalf. Service Providers: From time to time, we might establish a business relationship with other persons or entities whom we believe trustworthy and whom we have asked to confirm that their privacy practices are consistent with ours ("Service Providers"). For example, we may contract with Service Providers to provide certain services, such as credit card processing, advertising, analytics tools, data management services, Web hosting, and Web development. We provide our Service Providers with the information needed for them to perform these services. Each Service Provider must agree to implement and maintain reasonable security procedures and practices appropriate to the nature of the information involved in order to protect your information from unauthorized access, destruction, use, modification or disclosure.

Other Transfers: We may share Personally Identifiable Information and Non-Personally Identifiable Information with businesses controlling, controlled by, or under common control with Adconion. If Adconion is merged, acquired, or sold, or in the event of a transfer of some or all of our assets, we may disclose or transfer Personally Identifiable Information and Non-Personally Identifiable Information in connection with such transaction. You will have the opportunity to opt out of any such transfer if, in our discretion, the new entity plans to handle your information in a way that differs materially from this Privacy Policy.
Compliance with Laws and Law Enforcement: Adconion cooperates with government and law enforcement officials and private parties to enforce and comply with the law. We may disclose Personally Identifiable Information and Non-Personally Identifiable Information to government or law enforcement officials or private parties if, in our discretion, we believe it is necessary or appropriate in order to respond to legal requests (including court orders and subpoenas), to protect the safety, property or rights of Adconion or of any third party, to prevent or stop any illegal, unethical, or legally actionable activity, or to comply with the law.

The Site may contain links to Web sites or content operated and maintained by third parties, over which we have no control. You access such third-party Web sites or content at your own risk. You should always read the privacy policy of a third-party Web site before disclosing any information to the Web site.

This means that any person or entity with access to such information can potentially use it for any purpose, including sending unsolicited communications.
Security
We recognize the importance of safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. Accordingly, we employ standard security measures designed to protect your information from unauthorized access. However, no data transmission over the Internet or other network can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect information transmitted on or through the Ad Network or the Site, we cannot and do not guarantee the security of any information you transmit on or through the ad Network or the Site, and you do so at your own risk.

If we become aware that we have inadvertently received information from a child under the age of 13, we will delete such information from our records. Because we do not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13, we also do not knowingly distribute such information to third parties.
Privacy Policy Changes
From time to time, we may change this Privacy Policy. If we decide to change this Privacy Policy, we will inform you by posting the revised Privacy Policy on the Site. Those changes will go into effect on the Revision Date shown at the top of the revised Privacy Policy.
